I went to the bookfair in Leipzig yesterday, had a wonderful time with my friends, and took a few pictures of them. It was my first attempt at shooting real people - so far, I've only taken pictures of my pets, the gardens, or my brother's cars. So people.
My Lessons Learned:
- I need way more creativity. A lot of my pictures look the same - even those taken of different people.
- I need to prepare better so that I can suggest some poses.
- Conventions are... not that good for taking pictures. Too many people, too little space, and always the same background.
- I need more practice with my equipment. Okay, two of three lenses arrived only this week and all I could do was take some sample shots. But still, I need much more practice to know how they work, which will be good for which shot etc.
But the most important thing: I had So. Much. Fun!
It was great seeing these wonderful people again, spending the day with them, walking around, watching other cosplayers. I feel much better than a couple of days ago even though I had a very short night (late train, early F1 race).
So: I need to see you guys more often and I need to take much more pictures of you. Yes, this is a not so subtle hint!
